Brainstorm Magazine + Final Presentations + Word Clouds

Reminder: If you are interested in submitting a final edited and proofread “clean copy” of one of your essays to Brainstorm Magazine, don’t forget that the deadline for submitting is Wednesday, May 17, before noon. You can follow this link to  upload your essay directly to the Expository Writing Program website: Expository Writing Program. Look for the submission information at the lower left hand side of the webpage. Students can only submit ONE writing assignment, so if you are on the fence about which of your three major essays to submit, feel free to contact me over the weekend for advise/pros & cons about each essay you could possibly submit.

Have a wonderful and restful and fun summer! I have thoroughly enjoyed our class–your class may end up being the first class to have a reunion! Dr. Mintler

As you think more about the trajectory of our class over the semester, from ocularcentrism to managing vision with mechanical reproduction to how we see “the other” to vision and virtual reality, here is a final quotation to keep in mind”:

Project 4 Final Presentations, Observation Blogs, PRELIM 1 & E.C.

We will meet tomorrow morning at 9am in our regular classroom for Final Presentations of Final Project 4. I will bring a dozen donuts from Hurts Donuts. If I have time, I will bring a carafe of coffee from EXPO. Please feel free to bring a morning beverage of your choice.

You want to have all remaining course commitments complete by Friday: this includes your guest blog post and final blog post, PRELIM 1: Keyterm Catalog, any outstanding discussions you want to post in or hypothes.is annotations you need to make, and our final extra credit assignment: a creative Word Cloud for PRELIM 1.

I will be on campus for the remainder of the day on Tuesday, as well as on Thursday for a 1-3pm meeting (I could meet right before or right after).

Final Grades are due next Tuesday. Since I have given SIB students until Friday to wrap up any outstanding assignments, I probably won’t have grades ready until late Monday morning. I will happily reply to any grade requests via email on Monday.
